BOFA Inspire has first-hand experience of working alongside disadvantaged communities together with our dedicated team of volunteers. Our work is informed by a wealth of community engagement experience, a commitment and passion to wanting to make a difference and by the lived experiences of our leadership team and our diverse volunteer supported base. All of whom are themselves bought up in Birmingham’s Inner-city areas of deprivation. Therefore, have first-hand experience, exposure and good understanding of some of the prevalent issues facing communities living in deprivation. Including social, cultural and educational barriers to access to services, high racial tension, street gang culture, adopting anti-social / disruptive behaviours, adopting unhealthy lifestyle choices, living in poor social housing, high unemployment, low education attainment. Etc.
Our approach is person centred -flexible with the best interest of all our members at the centre of all our work, and a strong commitment to meeting real and relevant needs of our members. Our work is informed and influenced through community participation, analysis of local needs, local demographic, and gaps in service delivery.
This is achieved through our experienced, committed, and passionate team of volunteers, project staff and leadership team. Through this team we are all well-grounded in Community Development principles. We provide various opportunities to intentionally seek to influence positive changes for individuals in all aspects of their personal development, and within their local communities.
